Angry Ranger - Berwick Street/Nam Cheong Street

Angry Ranger is one of my favourite 90s new wave gangster flicks. The pleasantly non-comedic thriller is directed by Shaw Brothers baddie Johnny Wang Lung-Wei and produced by Jackie Chan. The film's atmosphere benefits enormously from its filming locations. Most of the action takes place around Shek Kip Mei Estate, which is the first public housing estate in Hong Kong.
Most of the old blocks were demolished and that's why Angry Ranger can be regarded as an interesting contempory document of HK's public housing development in the early 90s.
