On our way to England we stayed overnight in Dunkerque so we could take the ferry to Dover the next morning. A good opportunity to visit a few filming locations from the opening scene from Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk.
Dunkirk - Rue Belle Rade, Dunkerque
As you can easily see, Dunkerque has beautiful architecture. The path that the young soldier takes towards the beach corresponds exactly to the real path to the sea.

And here we are on the beach. We would have loved to stay longer in Dunkerque, but our appetite for British Breakfast was too big and so we headed towards the ferry port.
Rush Hour 3 - Fontaine du Jardins du Trocadéro, Paris
With the help of the tricolour flag, Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker float gently down from the Eiffel Tower. The extensive Fontaine du Jardins du Trocadéro offers them an equally gentle landing area. The place was named in honor of the Battle of Trocadero (1823), in which the French forces captured the Isla del Trocadero in southern Spain.
Rush Hour 3 - Place de Varsovie, Paris
Now that the bad guy is finally dead, Jackie and Chris have every reason for a happy dance. Edwin Starr's song War (What is it good for?) drops in and the two cop buddies prance across Place de Varsovie (Warsaw Square).
Kiss of the Dragon - Sacré Cœur, Paris
Jet Li pays the old man his last respects. For this, he laid the corpse in front of one of the biggest tourist hotspots in Paris. When we were there, the areal in front of the church was so crowded that a ceremony of this kind would probably have been quite disturbing.
Kiss of the Dragon - Port de la Conférence, Paris
Kiss of the Dragon's fatal boat tour begins at the Port de la Conférence. The place offers a beautiful view of the river Seine and an ominous tower that doesn't require any further explanation. By the way, the Seine (775 km) is the second longest river in France. First place goes to the Loire (1006 km).
Kiss of the Dragon - Pont Alexandre III, Paris
The malicious Tchéky Karyo wants to kill the righteous Jet Li, but our agile hero (Spoiler Alert) manages to escape below the bridge. Pont Alexandre III is a deck arch bridge that spans the Seine in Paris. The extravagant "monument historique" was inaugurated in 1900 and is one of the city's numerous tourist attractions.
Kiss of the Dragon - Gare de l'Est, Paris
Jet Li wants to get his weapons arsenal from the luggage locker at Gare de l'Est. The foyer still looks like in 2001, but the luggage lockers are gone. Opened in 1849, Gare de l'Est is one of the oldest and largest railway stations in Paris.
Rush Hour 3 - Place de l'Opéra, Paris
Strangely enough, Chris Tucker enjoys his chinese takeaway food at the renowned Café de la Paix. One of the oldest and most famous cafés in Paris with a view of the splendid Opéra Garnier. By the way, this opera house is the venue in Gaston Leroux's 1910 novel The Phantom of the Opera.
Kiss of the Dragon - Passerelle des Douanes, Paris
Jet Li and Bridget Fonda take a walk along Canal Saint-Martin. The construction of the canal was ordered by none other than Napoleon I in 1802, funded by a new tax on wine. The name of the footbridge is Passerelle des Douanes (in english: customs bridge).
Rush Hour 3 - Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Paris
Chris Tucker aka Detective James Carter follows the mysterious Genevieve to the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. After a bizarre stage performance, we see Jackie and the two of them escape through the building's side exit.
